1963 Heritage Display - JFK Cup
On June 5, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was presented an Air Force Academy Diploma and honorary membership in the Class of 1963. Cadet Wing Commander Michael J. C. Roth made the presentation. The President said in his remarks: "I want to express my appreciation for becoming an instant graduate of this academy, and consider it a high honor." President Kennedy was the first Commander in Chief to officiate and address an Air Force Academy graduating class.
A sterling silver cup,
matching those of the other 499 member of the
Class of 1963, is included for fellow graduate - John F. Kennedy.
Engraved 'JFK', the cup
occupies the space at the lower right hand
corner of the large case.
His cup has been turned
in keeping with the tradition of other
classmates who have passed.
